Booking, dispatch, pickup, transit, delivery. The whole sequence, including the quiet part where it feels like nothing is happening.

Most anxiety in auto transport comes from a stretch of silence right after booking, when it is unclear whether anything is happening. Here is the whole sequence, including that part.

1. Booking

You confirm the vehicle, both addresses, and a pickup window. The quote is generated against live capacity on your lane, so the number you accept is the number a carrier is expected to run. Nothing is charged to you at this stage beyond confirming the booking.

2. Dispatch, the quiet part

Your shipment is matched to a specific carrier with capacity in your direction. This is the stretch that feels like silence, and it is the part doing the most work: verifying active FMCSA authority, confirming cargo insurance is in force, and checking safety scores before anyone is assigned. Our commitment is a vetted carrier assigned within 24 hours.

When it completes you receive the carrier name, the driver, the MC number, and a contact.

3. Pickup

The driver calls to arrange a time, usually the day before. You walk the vehicle together, they record its condition on the bill of lading, you both sign, and it loads. Fifteen to thirty minutes at the curb. If a full-size truck cannot reach your street, this is where you agree to meet somewhere it can.

4. Transit

The car moves with several others, and the driver works to hours-of-service limits, so plan on roughly 500 miles a day rather than a straight-line drive. You can track progress, and the driver is reachable.

5. Delivery

The driver calls ahead. You inspect the vehicle against the pickup condition report before signing anything, note any discrepancy on the delivery copy, and then pay. Paying on delivery is deliberate: it keeps everyone's incentives pointed at the car arriving in the condition it left in.
